St. Andrews State Park is located in Panama City Beach Florida and was a fantastic adventure for us. We were able to bicycle around the park, kayak the Lower Grand Lagoon, and camp with a beautiful view. There is a busy boat launch area at the park as well. The jetties area is perfect for snorkeling adventures. There are many things to do at St. Andrews State Park, whether you are here for the day or staying overnight at the campground.
The camp store at this park is nice, so if you are looking for a glamping spot, this place will not disappoint. Spending one night here among the RVs and experienced campers might make you ask yourself why you don't live like this full time.
If you've ever wanted to camp on the beach, this place should be on your list of places to go. Having a lot of experience with beaches, we can say the wind never stops, which is not always a good thing. But this is why camping at St Andrew's was so awesome. The campsite is situated on the beach of The Lower Grand Lagoon, protecting the campsite from the Gulf winds.
Panama City is visible from the shore of the campsite as well, making for a fantastic view. When you combine these elements with a gorgeous sunset and campfire, the atmosphere is better than anything Hollywood could ever imagine. Stargazing is also a feature at this campsite.
Bicycling and Kayaking
Bicycling was pretty cool, though we didn't try offroad because cycling through sugar sand is not very much fun. The kayaking was far more rewarding. However, do stay closer to the Panama City Beachside of the water, and not so much the Panama City side where it is pretty windy and had a fair amount of chop we had to paddle back through. We were fortunate to catch the most beautiful sunset on our way back to the park. In the video, I stated we were kayaking the Upper Grand Lagoon but it is actually the Lower Grand Lagoon.
